ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
*ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
The City of Cleveland must keep pace with the Digital Age. The very nature of business and the economy has changed to digital. Michael Hardy believes that one of the first steps, in conjunction with educational and training initiatives, is ensuring all businesses and residents have access to the internet. Hardy proposes creating a Citywide Municipal Broadband Network or just for Ward 11.
The City of Cleveland must reclaim its spot as the go-to place in Ohio to start one’s career and business and/or expand it. The City must do more to recruit and retain its regional talent. The City has the capacity to accomplish this. These goals deserve the City’s energy and attention.

SAFETY
*Our Ward 11 home must be a safe place for our citizens. Hardy will work for better equipped, better-trained safety forces. Hardy supports a Community Policing model and advocates the return of Police Mini-stations but based on his conversations with a former Police Commander and a former Sergeant, mobile mini-stations may be the best option. Hardy believes the Ward can no longer ignore the problems or provide short-term solutions. Officers and all residents must be included in important discussions. It’s essential that an environment is created where stakeholders’ needs and concerns are heard. Speaking of solutions, we must look at the long-term solutions, which include addressing mental health concerns and re-entry support for the formerly incarcerated. Regardless of the solutions, both officers and all residents must be included in discussions.
Long-term solutions that are sustainable must be provided. With serious and concerted engagement, Ward 11 can achieve long-term solutions and slow the exodus of our city.

MAINTAINING THE INTEGRITY OF THE WARD 11 COMMUNITY
*Redistricting is on the line in Cleveland and two Wards could be eliminated. Ward 11 could be separated. As a lifelong resident and the only candidate in this race who resides in Ward 11, Hardy’s goal is to go downtown and advocate on behalf of Ward 11 and keep it together. With over 23,500 residents, Ward 11 has the biggest population in Cleveland. It is essential that Ward 11 remains together and not become the outskirts of the surrounding Wards.
